In this, the fourth book featuring Jack Mitchell private detective, Jack is asked to find the wife of a rich business man who has simply vanished and a young man who has disappeared while hiking in the Derbyshire peak district. As always, Jack has to juggle several other cases alongside of these, including a woman whose soldier husband has been reported as killed twelve years earlier and a man whose daughter has been kidnapped.
