Officer Kelly gets a feeling that something odd is happening in the small town of Jalaine, Oregon. He tries to discover patterns from beneath the dreams, suspicions, speculations and lies of those who have spent a lifetime trying to believe in other people's stories. Meanwhile, Kazoo, a local kid with big dreams, plans to disrupt the small town with an event unlike anything that has ever been experienced in Jalaine. Little does he know that there are undercurrents of things that he might do well to leave undisturbed, or, possibly, unearthed. This rollicking fairy tale brings together a host of characters including elves, Raven, the ghost of Teddy Roosevelt, the Chili Queen and a man named Ray who mysteriously arrives in town just before the fateful night when the lid blows open on Jalaine's mysterious happenings.
