Cheer-Accident
One of the most fascinating creative careers in the modern American underground - in any medium. Imagine a confluence of the grandeur of Yes, the range of This Heat, the irreverence of Ween, the poignancy of Elliott Smith and the mischief of Andy Kaufman, and youll be getting close to the net effect of Cheer-Accidents musical output since its formation in 1981. - Signal To Noise / Newly remastered for a 2017 release and available commercially for the first time ever. The 52 minute song Trading Balloons was originally recorded in 1997, and then self-released on CD-R in a very limited edition two years later. Trading Balloons anticipates the direction the band would take in the years to come - exploring a dizzying blend of musical styles: from Zeppelin-esque bombast to folk-tinged Americana to Stravinsky-flavored progressive rock to cinematic melodrama - and beyond.
