Walnut Creek, located in San Francisco's East Bay area, is a creepy little town that prides itself on being a high-priced, upscale community. It's populated by plenty of hyper-pretentious people suffering from hyper-superficial deportment and self-endowed delusions of grandeur reminiscent of the robotic Stepford Wives! Its prime purpose for existing is keeping the world safe-not for democracy-but for commerce! Patelco, a local credit union, reflects perfectly its extremely commercialistic outlook. Its common people are never supposed to complain about anything-or display getting upset by anything-no matter how unjust or unfair the imposition placed upon them by some exploitative commercial entity. If they do, they risk getting rousted by the local cops once they're declared "trespassed from the property" by the complaint-phobic place of business-a typical local ploy ill-intended to stifle legitimate and valid public complaints. Wrongful tenancy terminations comprise another such abuse for suppressing public complaints. Voice of the Member, this corrupt credit union's dirty tricks department, resorts to outright lies and libel to discredit customer complaints. Patelco-as exposed by this pamphlet-is symptomatic of this creepy city's extremely unscrupulous and insidious culture that's so bent upon controlling and manipulating its common populace.
