False Idols
Daniel Reilly
In 1988, Harry Smith was convicted for the suspected murder of a famous actor. In 2018, he has became the most infamous prisoner in the world, the truth behind his incarceration still a mystery. A young journalist attempts to unravel the real story behind the crime, only to realise the truth isn't as simple as it seems. A wild mash-up of Dennis Wheatley, Charles Dickens & David Lynch; False Idols is a surreal stage-play that explores the subject of true crime stories, and how the line between honesty and sensationalism can be manipulated by all involved. Cast: 6 Male, 4 Female, 3 Chorus.
