She has been a statistical consultant to the Minnesota Economic Development Center at St. Cloud State University for over 12 years and an active member of the research committee for the St. Cloud Area Economic Development Partnership. She has won several teaching awards, and her publications include papers in the Journal of Regional Science and the Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly.
