Hurricanes are a part of living in the Caribbean it's just a fact of life. A category 5 hurricane named Luis hit St. Maarten on September 4, 1995. It was an extremely powerful hurricane with wind gusts of up to 200 mph and tornado action within it. You would think that would be enough to deal with but that, of course, would have been too good to be true. Unbelievably, another hurricane named Marilyn hit the island just 10 days later.
