"The Missing Pecan" is a story about two young squirrels (Chi Chi and Fuzzy) that love to race each other. One day they decided to race to see who could find the most pecans and make it back home first with them. Unable to carryall the pecans that Fuzzy found, he decided to hide one and planned to come back later to get it. On this journey, Fuzzy learns the importance of never lying. The brothers also learn what can happen when a buried pecan is left unattended for a period of time. Teachers can use this story as an introduction to a unit about trees and their growth process.
