Adrienne Lecouvreur - Influential Women in History

This book is part of a series on historical female figures. It features Adrienne Lecouvreur, a French actress and ancestor of George Sands who debuted in Paris at the Comédie Française in 1717. She died prematurely and was refused the last rites of the Church, thus inspiring her friend, admirer and lover Voltaire, to write a poem on the subject.
