Global Warming has decimated the world. Billions are dead. Millions more are dying. A lucky few get to live a life of ease inside climate-controlled biospheres called Shells, but for most people existence means unending suffering in the cruel wastelands known as Zones outside the domed cities. When a software junkie from Zone 2 is accused of killing a Shell citizen, a hardened cop from the wastelands is forced to join forces with a naive young female scientist from the Los Angeles Shell to find out why. What they soon discover is a conspiracy that threatens the entire human race.
