This is a perspective on the government and the lack of effective participation by the citizens. This discussion reviews how the implementation of rules, regulations and laws, coming from the highest elected authority, to be disseminated by a descending order of bureaucrats, effect on our culture. The citizens are subject to and the ultimate implementer's of those rules and laws. They utilize various forums to discuss their perspective on the propriety or impropriety those rules, regulations and laws. Citizens become more vocal as the guidance from "higher authority" appears to lack prudence and wisdom. In addition, the lack of informed participation by the citizens and their obsession with leisure and entertainment is discussed.
