The sleepy little town of Clinton, South Dakota, hadn't had a decent newsday since the 1960s. Back then, the unsolved murder of a judge's wife shook the tiny community to its core. More than fifty years later, teenager John Henry Higgins received a Winchester rifle as a birthday gift. That was the first in a chain of events that eventually unwrapped old mysteries... and brought a new series of mayhem and murder to the banks of the Missouri.
