An aging warrior in service to an ancient Theocracy, Gran is honor-bound to die in duty. Twelve thousand years after the dawn of mankind, the Order of the Star Priests hold every man, woman, and child in their unyielding grip. Gran is one of their agents of fear, charged with transporting and utilizing the Order's weapon of mass destruction - The Star-Touched Child. Born with an ability to manipulate the flow of time, the Star-Touched are trained to collapse the world around them with catastrophic effect, with their upbringing and protection left to select warriors of the Order. Following the loss of a close friend, Gran and his Star-Touched form a bond of father and daughter; going beyond the interaction allowed by the Star Priests. Though it appears their lives will end peacefully, the child's vision of the world's true past shatter those dreams, set dark plans in motion, and awaken old resentments within Gran.
