Gustave Flaubert was one of the 19th century's most famous authors. A French novelist, Flaubert led the way for the Realism literary movement in that country at a time that it was sweeping across Europe and the United States, and works like "Madame Bovary" are still wildly popular today. Sentimental Education is considered to be one of the most influential novels of the 19th century, being praised by contemporaries George Sand, Émile Zola. The story focuses on the romantic life of a young man at the time of the French Revolution of 1848.
