Jeremy Dance is young, rich, and tough. It's the summer of 1939 and the United States is far from the turmoil of Europe, yet Jeremy Dance Restorations has plenty of cases to investigate. Jeremy solves two straightforward cases, but when Jeremy's former stepmother goes missing, suspicion falls on Jeremy's father. It's up to Jeremy to find out what happened to the missing woman, but perhaps there is more to the case than he first realizes. Later on as Jeremy sails away on a research expedition to the Caribbean, he is called on to write up a report when one of the passengers suffers an accident. But was it an accident?
