Forty years after the devastating conclusion of World War 3, the billion people or so who survived are still struggling to rebuild their lives and discover the history about the relatively short but extremely brutal war. Exploring the ruin which was once the city of Salvador, Brazil, is the Gresham family. Searching through the remains of a destroyed skyscraper they discover something nobody could have expected. A lone survivor trapped in a state of suspended animation who likely knows more about the war than the history books do. But as suspicions about the stranger grow, thousands of forgotten weapons of mass destruction renew the threat against humanity with no clear instigation. The world quickly comes to realise that the war may not be over yet.
