It was serialized in The Century Magazine (1893-4), before being published as a novel in 1894 The setting is the fictional Missouri frontier town of Dawson's Landing on the banks of the Mississippi River in the first hal of the 19th century. 2.) The Mysterious Stranger is the novel attempted by the American author Mark Twain. He worked on it intermittently from 1897 through 1908. Twain wrote multiple versions of the story 3.) It explores the controversy over the authorship of the Shakespearean literary canon via satire, anecdote, and extensive quotation of contemporary authors on the subject. 4.) A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is an 1889 novel by American humorist and writer Mark Twain. The book was originally titled A Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Some early editions are titled A Yankee at the Court of King Arthur.
