The following pages will be poking at some of the more commonplace notions and conventional wisdom that impede making an internal shift. Slightly provocative in some places, the text will suggest looking afresh at some fixed ideas you may have and pose a challenge: "Dare you consider an alternate view?" There will be new light or fresh insights from several disciplines like science, history, theology, philosophy, and psychology -- ideas you may never have considered or perhaps not have been had an opportunity to get to. In short, I want to take you on an adventure into the world of contemporary ideas that may - but only if you choose - cause a shift in your inner way of seeing yourself, others, and life itself. I will suggest that by making the shift, even though your external world may seem the same, your view of it may be enhanced and embraced in a fresh way. You will have changed.
