Homeless addict Abby Beale has often tried to give up her lifestyle, but to no avail. She was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, giving her the backdrop for this book set in Central Wisconsin. Her adult life, with her husband Wally was spent in Christian service with the Salvation Army in the Upper Midwest. She is now retired and living in Northern Illinois.
