A New Creation

Homeless addict Abby Beale has often tried to give up her lifestyle, but to no avail. When she hears her best friend has overdosed, she panics and is overcome with fear and a longing for a safe place. Her parents have refused her help; her husband has legal custody of their infant daughter and has barred her from their home. In desperation, and with no destination in mind, Abby walks away from her hometown. School teacher Hannah Brickson has spent the summer at a cottage in Northern Wisconsin where she met and became romantically interested in a young professional man, Derek Kane. As she drives near her home in Pine Grove, she sees a young woman on the side of the country road. She has never picked up a stranger, but something within urges her to stop and talk to the woman. As their lives intertwine, can Hannah help Abby? Will Abby be able to find a solution for her addiction? Will either of them find the love and security they desire? Joyce Winters has been writing stories and poems since childhood. She has had over 100 articles, short stories and poems published, in addition to four other full length inspirational novels. Her books Let Your Light So Shine and My Refuge and Strength were published by Xulon Press. She was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, giving her the backdrop for this book set in Central Wisconsin. Her adult life, with her husband Wally was spent in Christian service with the Salvation Army in the Upper Midwest. She is now retired and living in Northern Illinois.
