Mr. Polly is an unassuming young man who works in a drapery shop and loves to read about knights. After the death of his father and loosing his job he marries Miriam who he does not love. They set up a shop. Polly finds himself in comic arguments and slapstick calamities wherever he goes. This is a delightful and amusing read.
