The Story of My Life
Gesue Roberts
When Gesue Roberts was in high school, to live in the United States was his last desire. After graduation from college in 1970, a university in the United accepted Gesue to do graduate works, but he didn't have the money to travel. Furthermore, the government of Liberia needed a payment of $500 as a surety, to bring him back if he could not make it abroad. Gesue could not afford the $500.00, so he suspended the trip. Fortunately, Swissair hired Gesue, and he was able to save money to go abroad for graduate studies, but he did not know when to travel. Then one day his supervisor suggested he could use his vacation time to go overseas, stay there, work, and go to evening school. With that suggestion, Gesue began preparation for the trip to the United States. After making the government-required financial deposit, Gesue departed Monrovia for the United States of America in March 1973. The Story of My Life, Volume 2 covers Gesue's life in the United States from 1973 to 2015.
