As we know from Alfredo Rodríguez López-Vázquez, Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo could have been the author of Viaje de Turquía. This hypothesis may have been abandoned in the forthcoming years, but the fact remains that Rodríguez López-Vázquez studied the Viaje de Turquía for many years. He also studied the presuming author of Lazarillo for many years and felt very strongly that Lazarillo had something to do with the author of Viaje de Turquía.
