Raised in a tough, high-rise estate in the East End of London, Bo Bates is a disengaged young man with bleak prospects. Long-term unemployed, poorly educated, and raised by an alcoholic mother, Bo craves notoriety. With the pending release of his brother from prison, he has a plan to fast-track his progression to becoming a career criminal. But Bo is young, naïve and slow to learn the code of the street and it's not long before he has crossed wires with the evil face of the brutal criminal underworld putting himself and his family in fatal danger.
