Thompsonville Collection

Thompsonville is an unassuming Mississippi town situated in the southern piney-wooded hill country. Louisiana is not too far to its south and the Alabama state line is much closer to the east. Thompsonville has an unusual heritage. It was established in the late 1800's by Georgia plantation slaves who migrated there during the Reconstruction period. It has secrets and stories about ordinary and not so ordinary people. The founding matriarch of Thompsonville was Dora Jane, a slave herself, with powerful spiritual gifts which were inherited by her descendants, who shaped the foundation and culture of this small town. These stories tell of love, happiness, fear, losing, winning, anger and sometimes sadness. Thompsonville is indeed a "power place". Its people are, for the most part, good hearted humble folk who respect, revere and enjoy a close connection to their heritage. Their lives reflect hope, never giving up and always believing in a higher power.

Thompsonville Collection, Mystic Song of the Deep South is presented as a series of short stories with varied themes. Each story weaves threads of love, growth, and transformation.
