Obedience. Just hearing that word can make people bristle. When faced with it, we are often like the defiant child seated in a "time out" corner who declares, "Well, I'm still standing up on the inside!"

Challenged by God to spend an entire year intentionally viewing everything through the filter of Obedience as a spiritual discipline, the author set out to explore what it means to be not only obedient, but joyfully obedient. Is joyful obedience really possible, especially today? Beginning by questioning what Obedience means at its most basic level, the book examines such familiar questions as: Whom, and how, do we obey? What happens if we obey and if we don't obey? What are some obstacles to obedience? Does God really reward obedience? Although the questions may be familiar, the answers may surprise the reader as much as they surprised the author!
