The Book of Khalid is a novel that was written in 1911 by the Arab author Ameen Fares Rihan. He wrote in English and described the perilous journey of immigrants to America. This was the first book to paint a picture of immigration, and also book to the first to break the barrier between East and West. This edition comes with the original illustrations by his friend and colleague Khalil Gibran, and some think that this book influenced "The Prophet".
