The Inn at Copper's Run

Two near strangers, each disillusioned and desperate to make changes, escape the World Trade Center North Tower together and flee the City to seek refuge and a new life. Who hasn't longed to vanish and start over in another place? For Sampson MacDonald and Alaine Albert, the events of 9-11 provide that chance. Sam hates his life in high finance. Alaine suffers in a damaging relationship. When the plane hits their building, Sam's decision to save Alaine as well as himself from sure death brings them together in a struggle for re-birth. Their escape from New York leads them to the polar opposite of Copper's Run, Virginia. The two find safe haven at the Inn at Copper's Run with innkeepers, the Rev. Raymond T. Bright, a preacher of color, and his lady, Ms. Charity. A traveler's retreat since the mid eighteenth century, Sampson and Alaine discover the inn serves other purposes, not immediately evident, in the lives of its residents. On the verge of finding rest far from New York City, the two are confronted with devastating reminders of their past, threatening any prospect of security in Copper's Run. Will those challenges destroy growing bonds and a future in their new lives? Can they find the peace and fulfillment they long for?
