This book considers such change in the modern context of IS/IT being both enablers (and sometimes inhibitors) of business change. IT is often considered to be inextricably linked to business - mostly by IT pundits; the popularity of outsourcing IT and the increasing profile of software as a service are proof points that business may not share that point of view. The book, therefore, does not hold IT as an essential partner in business.
