Taking a profound 'inner approach' to help the modern Cranial Osteopathic practitioner understand Cranial Osteopathy from a deeper and broader perspective, this book begins by takes the reader on a journey of understanding about themselves as a practitioner. It discusses the 'osteopathic toolbox' - the skill set which the practitioner must bring to each patient - as well as the need to be 'inner centred' when diagnosing and treating. The following chapter looks at aspects of diagnosis - of tissue and fluid states, giving the reader several 'inner' considerations which they should apply when assessing a patient.
The book then looks at the whole body and advises on using an 'inner' approach to assess and treat TMJ and mouth disorders. Each chapter gives an overview of the anatomy relevant to the chapter and discusses the osteopathic relevance and new ways of working. Case studies/clinical experiences are described and 'hands on' exercises are given for the reader to practise.
These are exercises which the reader should do 'at the treatment table' and which will therefore prepare them to use the approaches described in the chapter with their patients.
