An unknown virus sweeps across the globe, killing the population before anyone knows what's happening. First it's senior citizens, then the middle-aged, and finally, anyone over twelve years of age. Civilization is devastated in a matter of weeks, the adults dying off one by one. But the children may survive, and with luck, perhaps life will continue. Danny Trumane is one such child. As society collapses in on itself, Danny finds out the world he knew is gone, and if he isn't careful, he too, will join the corpses littering the streets and inside buildings and homes.
