Between mural jobs, Josephine Stuart promises she will help her neighbor, Jason Oeblick, with his nursery business in Gilroy, California. His mother was recently murdered and Josephine is "on it." She commutes to work with all good intensions but struggles with the unfamiliar world of horticulture. When Jason comes up with an idea for a mural, she jumps at the chance to paint on his WildWest Nursery building. As Josephine questions the Oeblick family members, she becomes involved in their lives. Two family members live in a homeless camp in a park in Gilroy. Their cause becomes Josephine's as she promotes a walk-a-thon to raise money for homeless shelters. In the meantime, a Silicon Valley smuggling operation involving a couple of nefarious characters threatens the safety of Josephine and her dog, Solow. Even with all the distractions, she presses on feeling she must find the person who murdered Mrs. Oeblick.
