Aspirin for the Earth

Diverse people, groups, communities, organizations etc., have always attempted to fix the problems bedeviling the earth. A broad spectrum of professionals and experts have deployed interdisciplinary approaches to bring order into a chaos-prone earth. From global climate change impacts, earthquakes, tsunamis and other extreme events to epidemic diseases, terrorism, civil unrest, racial conflicts, economic melt downs etc., the earth is reeling from the severity of these blows. The whole creation is groaning.

Lately the earth systems approach has been developed in various fields with the idea of comprehensively addressing the various facets of the earth's maladies. While there have been short spans of apparent success often resulting from quantum leaps in innovation, the earth has continued in its downward spiral towards hopelessness and despair. The call for a united front akin to a one-world government and a systemic approach to the solution of global issues often looks promising. However, the devil is in the details.
