Another Austrian castle, another treasure hunt, more gangs of crooks, more improbably posh heroes and their devoted servants, another Dornford Yates adventure story. Inheriting the Castle of Hohenems in Carinthia, Austria, after the death of Nicholas Ferrers in a road accident, our heroes attempt to gain possession of the fortune secreted within, a collection of carved jewels of the Borgias, walled up in the dungeons, being opposed by the neighbouring those of Haydn and by Harris and his gang.
