Papa Gamel, a local doll maker, is asked to create a special doll for the child of a wealthy family. Papa fashions the doll after Lauren, a little girl in the neighborhood. Once the doll is displayed for all to see Lauren secretly wishes she could take the doll home. When the day arrives for the doll to be taken away, Lauren isn't sure the doll will be happy in her new home and neither is Papa Gamel. Christmas morning brings a surprise no one expected.
