The "Pedagogical Mediation Model for the Development of Mathematical Thinking and the Capacity for Research in the Classroom" (MMPDPM-CIA) is a pedagogical-didactic model for the development of autonomous learning, through which it is intended that teachers acquire theoretical and practical foundations to energize teaching and learning processes focused on the development of thinking and the ability to do research in the classroom. The problem that sustains the model, is the need to "teach mathematics to students of basic, secondary or university education in careers other than mathematics" because "teaching mathematics" in these contexts poses a challenge, which is generally ignored, by the tendency of mathematics teachers to develop the contents of mathematics, as if the learners were potential mathematicians or at least share the taste of mathematicians for this type of knowledge. In the context of this research, the MMPDPM-CIA and its own instruments were used as referents for the elaboration, monitoring and evaluation of the lesson plans.
