Kim Brandon
"Seventeen" is a collection of poetry written by author Kim Brandon. This particular selection of poems were all penned by the author at the pivotal age of seventeen. While some of the "coming of age" thoughts and feelings written here are objective, they convey some of the subjective and deeply personal adolescent experience of the author. Following the unexpected death of her older brother, she began to use her childhood hobby of writing poetry much more abstractly. What began as a coping mechanism and a need for emotional expression in one area, became an therapeutic outlet for the deeply private and introverted teen. Here, you'll find some of the author's first attempts at using poetry for catharsis.
