Sonnets from the Portuguese (Annotated)
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-This book contains a historical context, where past events or the study and narration of these events are examined. The historical context refers to the circumstances and incidents surrounding an event. This context is formed by everything that, in some way, influences the event when it happens. A fact is always tied to its time: that is, to its time. Therefore, when analyzing events that took place tens, hundreds or thousands of years ago, it is essential to know the historical context to understand them. Otherwise, we would be analyzing and judging what happened in a totally different era with a current perspective. Elizabeth Barrett Browning (born Moulton-Barrett, March 1806 to June 29, 1861) was an English poet of the Victorian era, popular in Britain and the United States during his life. Born in Durham County, the oldest of 12 children, Elizabeth Barrett wrote poetry since she was eleven. His mother's collection of poems forms one of the largest existing youth collections of any English writer. At age 15 he became ill, suffering severe pain in the head and spine for the rest of his life. Later in life he also developed lung problems, possibly tuberculosis. He took laudanum for pain from an early age, which probably contributed to his fragile health.
