Class Is (Always) In Session: Certain Thoughts During Uncertain TimesYou can't choose your teachers- whether that was Mrs. Kimball in 3rd grade or the broken leg in high school gymnastics or the broken heart at 25 or the broken marriage at 40. But we can learn from our teachers.
What I've learned from the school called "life" is that class is always in session. These reflections were born of a pandemic. Two months into the COVID-19 crisis in the United States, I began to write twice-weekly reflections as a way of dealing with the grim reality that hit the news and blew up social media.
While many people find it difficult--if not impossible--to keep focused on the good and beautiful, my work and experience as a Life Coach is to embrace and remind others of truths such as these:
- To live a less frantic life
- To let things unfold in their time
- To embrace this moment now and giving it our full attention
- To have relentless pragmatism and unbridled persistence
- To possess indefatigable ingenuity
- To get unstuck and unleashed
- To turn negative situations into positive opportunities
This work is an edited compilation of the 15 months of blog reflections I have written on our website, www.alivenwell.net, as well as transcripts from our podcast, "At the Well."
It is my sincere hope that these reflections will inspire those who are awake to become more healthy and those who are well to grow to be more grateful and aware.
