Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Toast
Shelved Neil Young & Crazy Horse album from 2001 finally sees the light of day and will be released on CD and vinyl on July 8.
The album Toast was recorded in San Francisco's Toast Studios in 2001 and is an album that holds its very own place in Neil Young's collection. There have been many sad and difficult albums throughout Young's more than 50 year long career, but Toast was one of the hardest. So sad an experience that the album was skipped while Neil Young instead continued other projects.
Toast is an album about relationships. About the time that occurs in many relationships - long before the break up - where it dawns on one of the people that it is already over. Toast was a product of such a time. It is a shame that it was such a sad experience to make the album, because it is an album where always excellent Crazy Horse helped let Young go as a musician, and at the same time took him to unbelievable places.
