The Orb & David Gilmour | Metallic Spheres In Colour
The album 'Metallic Spheres', by The Orb and Pink Floyd guitartist and vocalist David Gilmour, has undergone a creative transformation resulting in the release of Metallic Spheres In Colour, a reimagined and remixed version of the original album.
The driving force behind this reimagining, producer Youth, explains that the concept behind Metallic Spheres In Colour stemmed from the notion that Alex Paterson, the founder of The Orb, could have contributed more to the initial version of the album. However, due to the initial approach of blending influences from the 'Blade Runner' soundtrack with the essence of 'Wish You Were Here', Paterson's creative input was somewhat limited. Recognizing this, Youth proposed the idea of remixing the album to align with The Orb's distinctive style. Through this process, the outcome is akin to an entirely new musical experience rather than a mere remix.
