In BRINGING UP BABY (1938) Grant plays Dr. David Huxley, a paleontologist who is serious about his work. Whilst waiting for a the bone he needs to complete his brontosaurus skeleton, David also has to have a meeting with a very wealthy potential donor. On top of this, he is also putting the finishing touches to his upcoming marriage. The last thing he needs is the arrival of Susan (Katherine Hepburn), a strong-willed and beautiful woman who seems to cause trouble wherever she goes.
MY FAVOURITE WIFE (1940) is the story of how a woman, believed to have been dead for the past seven years (when in fact she has been marooned on an island) returns to her husband on the day of his marriage to another woman.
