Little Caesar
2008 release from the West Coast R&B cult favorite, Harry "Little" Caesar, which incorporates almost everything he cut between 1952 and 1960. Caesar's description-defying R&B mini-operettas, cut for John Dolphin's Recorded in Hollywood set-up, have long enthralled those who collect early '50's R&B. They have mostly never been reissued legally prior to this compilation. With notes by R&B expert Billy Vera (who knew Caesar personally) and a plethora of rare label shots to complement Billy's words, this CD is an enjoyable adjunct to Ace's various artists packages of Modern, Dolphin and Downey material - the three labels from which this CD draws it's repertoire. 26 tracks. Ace.
