Legendary performers with their most famous discographic milestones: this is the simple recipe of the Collector's Edition series with jewels from the old EMI and Warner archives. Richard Strauss was a big fan of the Staatskapelle Dresden. Her sound inspired him to many of his extremely refined orchestral works. When the conductor Rudolf Kempe recorded this orchestra on the podium between 1970 and 1976, this was one of the greatest moments in the heyday of the stereo era, which can be experienced in the brightest colors of modern remastering. The Strauss box contains not only the famous tone poems but also Strauss's concerts - with soloists such as Ulf Hoelscher, Paul Tortelier and Peter Damm.
