This is the only record to ever experience an attempted censorship of it's lyrics by UC Berkeley or any other university! This is the only rock record to have the distinction of being reviewed by William F. Buckley Jr.! Famous Berkeleyite of Woodstock fame, Country Joe McDonald calls the title track 'The Bomb!' The title tracks are a memoir of a day in the life on the Berkeley campus in the late 1960s. The other songs are the artistic musings of a thoughtful Berkeley grad, like the metaphysical surreal surrounded and the analytical boorzhwah baby. The music is as unique as the circumstances of it's unprecedented debut. A piece of history, a timeless retrospective. If U See Berkeley Cool, you'll be Berkeley Cool! Finally a CD from the nineties I can listen to all the way without skipping tracks! This CD has it all. The title track rocks, while 'Surreal Surrounded' is a venture into the acoustic mystic. My favorite track is 'Through All Those Years,' an introspective look back at a love from long ago. The music industry for the last decade has not managed to come up with any artists who are ground breaking in any shape or form. This CD assures me that artistry has not died out. The music is different, the lyrics have meaning, and the album as a whole is consistent. Definitely recommended! - Jarvis Johnson.
