Obscurity explores life on a treadmill, ill-founded relationships, violence, alcohol and addictions, perversions, liars, poverty, and failure. Obscurity also includes tracks that have fun with pop culture and love songs. Brian J. Stafford of Michigan raves about The Twangtones: 'I just got an email from a friend of mine telling me about your band...I just listened to some of your music on CD baby...I honestly couldn't believe that anyone would put that much effort into creating an album...So I thought that I would tell you...you're one of the few bands...I...like...You guys are...the whole point of what music is all about.'
