In 5 weeks in 1962, Green recorded 3 unique quartet sessions with Sonny Clark on piano, Sam Jones on bass and Louis Hayes or Art Blakey on drums. Of the 3 LPs (all considered too progressive for Green's soul-jazz following), only one (Airegin) came out in the U.S.; Gooden's Corner and Oleo were released only in Japan.
