Night Grooves
Stan Bock
... dramatic melodies and rhythms that swing with passion and precision... a very marketable sound, with it's Hammond organ and in-the-pocket beats. -Oregonian. Take some of America's most burning R&B and Jazz players, make them play together over many years and combine it with first-rate steaming charts, and you've got Night Grooves. With a rhythm section anchored by former Motown drummer & senior NW Jazz statesman Mel Brown, Night Grooves sizzles and swings through originals and tight arrangements of early Blue Note inspired compositions. As Willamette Week describes it: Night Grooves harnesses some of Portland's hottest Jazz players to a chassis of suave nightclub Funk."
