Broken on the Floor
Douglas Mitchell
It was during High school that Douglas Mitchell consumated his love of music by through being accepted into one of the Country's finest collegiate chamber choirs, receiving his first guitar, and discovering Pink Floyd and The Beatles. From there on out he expanded and enriched his musical taste and learned the craft of songwriting and performance by not only listening and studying, but by soaking in all he could from the musicians around him. Douglas started a Progressive Rock Band called 'The Turning Away' and while touring found himself writing songs of a much more personal nature, so he pulled away and recorded his first solo album 'Broken On The Floor' ~ a very heartfelt and honest album that has touched on the painful, and yet hopeful themes in his life. His aesthetic is old school. Classic and melodic. Songs that should hold their own alone with an acoustic guitar and voice, and yet ranging from that to tastefully layered to all out full band rocking.
