Beginning his career as a teen idol in the late 1950's, actor and singer James Darren first rose to fame via his role in the popular 1959 hit movie Gidget, and soon after had a string of pop hits including the million seller "Goodbye Cruel World" in 1961. In 1998 he received renewed popularity as a singer via his role as holographic crooner and advice-giver Vic Fontaine in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Presented here is Darren's rare 1971 album, "Mammy Blue" performing popular tunes ranging from Hank Williams to the Beatles. All selections newly remastered.
