In Concert
Sigmund Groven
The master of the harmonica, Sigmund Groven (born March 16, 1946), releases a collection of recordings that has never before been available in this format. Most of the material on this album are recordings of performances from live concerts, but there are also some studio recordings. "In Concert" contains 26 tracks where a lot of the repertoire is original works specially written for the harmonica by legends like Tommy Reilly, James Moody, Gordon Jacob, and especially by Sigmund himself. The music is written for both solo harmonica, and harmonica accompanied by piano or orchestra. We get to hear a mixed repertoire ranging from folk music to classical repertoire; own compositions, and tracks from Bach, Scarlatti, Handel, Beethoven and Grieg.
